A Musical Journey
I have been listening to music since I was a little boy. By the end of middle school I started to get interested in the production of music and how I could produce my own music. I purchased my first music software called FL studio. After learning the fundamentals of the program, I started making my own tracks and posting them on music platforms such as Soundcloud and YouTube. After years of self-learning and practice, I have gained a solid skillset. This passion continued throughout high school and led me to choose my major of TV & Digital Media at Montclair State University. The first semester at the university was definitely different and allowed me to understand what I can do with my selected major. My current academic goals at the university are to graduate in four years and to maintain a good grade point average every semester. In order to achieve these goals, I must work hard to study for exams, hand in assignments on time, and manage my time wisely. Some of my interests include cars, computers but most importantly music.
The music industry is an ever evolving industry for the media. It provides a wide variety of entertainment due to all the different genres being produced. Music has the power to influence everyone because the more we listen to the sounds, the bigger and deeper the positive impact becomes. It allows individuals to change their moods and express their feelings and emotions.
When I purchased my first music software, I quickly learned the basics and started producing EDM and Hip Hop beats. After years of self-learning and practice, I have gained a solid skillset, however I would like to expand my knowledge further and take it to the next level. A song that I created and released this year is called “Used To”. This song means a lot to to me, it is my first released song on streaming platforms and I am very happy on how it turned out. Working and creating this track was a fun experience and it turned out to be one of my favorite tracks I produced.
The concentration I chose at MSU is Audio/Sound Design and I believe it will help me get to my dream job in the future as a mix or recording engineer. Working in a recording studio would be my dream job and learning even more about writing and producing music is what I would like to concentrate on in my career. I am currently trying to build my skills in the production of music and also working on expanding my social media page.

It is the ability to push yourself in order to reach a goal or something you feel passionate about. Although I do believe that I have the courage, there still are some things that I have to work on to show the strength, motivation and perseverance. I know that I have the ability to work hard and stick with things until they are completed. Also, I realized that in today’s world, creative thinking is much more needed than ever. Music helps me become more creative because I think about the actual sounds and tones when putting together a song. I will keep working extra hard to reach my goals and I know it will be worth it.
